BRAND THINKING OR THE BRANDING PROCESS

  1. A brand becomes stronger when your narrow if focus because a powerful branding program always starts by contracting the category, not expanding it.
  2. The crucial ingredient in the success of any brand is its clam to authenticity.
  3. You have to launch the brand as to create the perception that the brand was the pioneer or the original.
  4. The most efficient, most productive, most useful aspect of branding is creating a new category. In other words, narrowing the focus inorder to develope something new with a clear identity and message.
  5. The name of the brand should stands alone, it should be simple, suggest the category and be unique.
  6. A brand's logotype is a visual represenation of the brand's core message.
  7. The logotype should be easily recognizable, stand-alone, be simple and be unique.
  8. The birth of a brand is achieved with publicity, not advertising. In other words, it is the packaging of the message rather than advertisement of the product, which sells the brand.
  9. You have to promote the brand with consistency.
  10. Creative is key.

BRANDING PROJECT GOAL’S
In this project, you are to apply brand thinking or the branding process to your business. You are to develop a branding concept by developing an identity and message for your business. Then you are to design and produce a branding campaign, which effectively communicates your branding concept. In other words, turn your water into Evian, or yourself into the next Andy Warhol, Madonna.
