Symbolic Self-portrait
Goal:
Create a portrait of oneself using images and texture as symbolic representation of both your inner and outer self. Engage in a dialogue with yourself through your juxtaposition of images and use of texture.
Objective:
To learn Photoshop and how to apply layers, blending, transparency to multiple images. Incorporate scale, crop, pattern, texture, and dominant/subornate design elements.
What to do:
This project is about learning to use texture to affect the tone of your work and using images to symbolically convey your dreams, ideas and beliefs. This project is to move you a way from using images that are just a collection of your hobbies or interest. For example if you like cars, I do not want you to have a collection of images of your favorite cars. Try and find out what cars mean to you, maybe they represent freedom. What are some images you could incorporate or use to express freedom? This is how you explor images and their meaning. The second aspect of the project is to use texture, by using an image from our texture book. Try and find textures that act as a background and to sets the tone or mood to your portrait.Key Componets
